Pastor JaShawn Hill is a native of Chicago, Illinois.  She is the wife of Brother Lavelle Hill and mother to 3 beautiful sons. She currently operates as Executive Director of Chicago Survivors, a non-profit organization providing wrap-around services and crisis care to families directly impacted by homicide in the city of Chicago.  She is a College Professor and serves on several community boards, including SisterHouse Recovery Home and Imago Dei Ministries.

In 2006 JaShawn was called out of the world of darkness into the Kingdom of Light, to find her purpose and God’s plan for her to preach the gospel around the world.  She is a motivational speaker and community advocate who has ministered throughout the Chicagoland area, surrounding states and surely has an identified call to serve the Lord and His people. Her overall passion is to win souls for the Kingdom!

In 2014 she gratefully accomplished her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, as Magnum Cum Laude.  In 2018 she achieved her license in clinical counseling services and therapeutic interventions to address the needs of the most vulnerable populations suffering from trauma, grief, addiction and mental health disorders.

JaShawn was Baptist at the age of 11 years old at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church and continued her Christian experience at Jordan Temple of Hillside, IL in 2006 under the leadership of Pastor Stephen E. Richardson for over 12 years serving on the Women’s Ministry, Associate Ministerial Services, Choir Ministry, praise dance team and she taught Sunday school faithfully for 8 years.

The fellowship with The City of Praise began in 2016-17 and in July of 2018 Pastor Hill housed Frontline Favor here at 3250 and the relationship simply grew.  On Sunday November 25, 2018, The Hills made it official and became members of The City of Praise and Pastor Hill became our Executive Pastor and went straight to work.

Since joining she has walked in service and humility as of her first Sunday as a member of The City. From feeding the Senior Home, to the Christmas Extravaganza to being the lead Adjutant for the 6 District Fellowship.

Her accomplishments include:

  • Top Giver in all things

  • Bringing numerous events to the church to create revenue through partnerships and bringing awareness of our location and this movement. Through Pastors leadership and service this church has been on the news in a positive manner more than any other FBH Church ever!

  • The goal was for this church to be open 24 hours and 7 days a week and through her labor she contracted the church to be a site for Chicago Survivors and other organizations to make this a real-life community focused ministry.

  • Purchased stoves, air and heating units, and anything else needed to ensure the church would progress.

  • Bringing back live music to keep the sound of the church.

  • Becoming a District Evangelist and leading the board to bring revival across our District.

The General Church of the Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God and the Americas made it official on Sunday November 17, 2024, and we celebrate what God has done and what He is going to do through our Deborah as we look to the Hills!
